Professor Paulo Fernandes was proposed and elected as an honorary member of the European Biomechanics Society at the General Assembly which took place on the 28th of June. Honorary member status is awarded for the excellent work carried out in this area.

The Society defines Honorary Members "Any natural person who has rendered special meritorious services to the Society or who has performed unusual work evidencing a high degree of achievement in the field of biomechanics may be elected as honorary member upon the recommendation of the Council".
