Attribution of the APETRO 2021 Award to Gabriel Costa

APETRO Award, established by DEM, in collaboration with the Coordination of the Integrated Master in Mechanical Engineering and sponsored by the Portuguese Association of Oil Companies (APETRO), was awarded to student Gabriel Costa in the 2021 edition.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEM), in collaboration with the Coordination of the
Integrated Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEMec) and sponsored by Portuguese Association of Oil Companies (APETRO), institutes the APETRO Award to be awarded to the best student at MEMec, as a way of recognizing the academic merit of students at the MEMec.

In this 2021 edition, academic merit was recognized to the student Gabriel Costa, MEMEC's ​​best student in 2021.

The ceremony began at 5 pm on June 20th with the intervention of Professor Pedro Coelho, President of DEM, followed by Professor Teresa Peña, President of the Pedagogical Council.

This was followed by the intervention of Professor Miguel Ayala Botto, as Vice-President of the Scientific Council, and also as co-supervisor of Gabriel Costa's Master's Thesis, developed in a partnership between DEM, DEEC and the FST Lisbon. In this capacity, Prof. Pedro Lima also made some comments. Then intervened Prof. Paulo Fernandes, representing the Coordinator of the Integrated Masters in Mechanical Engineering.

On behalf of APETRO, and as its Secretary-General, Eng. António Comprido attributed the €2,500 prize to the award-winning Gabriel Costa, who completed the list of interventions, thanking the recognition and the prize, as well as his entire education at the Instituto Superior Técnico.
