MIT Portugal announces 2022 Call for up to 40 Ph.D. Scholarship

On March 22, 2022 at 2 pm (Lisbon time), the MIT Portugal Program will host an Online info session to explain the application process. Registration is free but mandatory. Deadline March, 20.

The MIT Portugal Program is pleased to announce the opening of the 2022 Call for MPP2030-FCT PhD Research Grants to award 40 PhD Scholarships. The call is open until April 11, 2022 at 5:00pm (Lisbon time).

These grants aim at supporting individual researchers’ work leading to the achievement of a Doctoral degree from a Portuguese University in the areas of Climate Science & Climate Change; Earth Systems: Oceans to Near Space; Digital Transformation in Manufacturing; Sustainable Cities; and/or in Data Science (applied to the previous areas).

The work plan may take place entirely or partially in a national institution (scholarship in the country or mixed scholarship, with a period of work in a foreign institution). This call is hosted under the MIT Portugal Partnership 2030 and the grants to be awarded are FCT Ph.D. Scholarships.

Applications, further details, and supporting documents are available on the MIT Portugal website. This is the 3rd edition of the MPP2030-FCT PhD Grants. In the last 2 years, 73 PhD candidates were selected in this call.

  • The duration of the scholarships is, as a rule, annual, renewable up to a maximum of four years (48 months). In the case of mixed grants, the period of the work plan that takes place in a foreign institution cannot exceed 24 months.
