• Title: "The role of Hydrogen in carbon neutrality: FLEXnCONFU Project (P2H2P - Power-to-Hydrogen-to-Power)"
• Abstract:
EDP Renewables (EDPR) is leading the energy transition by investing in green hydrogen for decarbonization and sustainability. Focused on hard-to-electrify sectors such as biofuels, ammonia production, heavy transport, and steel manufacturing, EDPR’s strategy emphasizes hydrogen’s role in industrial decarbonization and grid flexibility.
This Seminar will showcase EDPR’s approach to the hydrogen economy, including a key highlight: the pilot project at Ribatejo Power Plant in Portugal. Here, a 1.25 MW hydrogen-to-power system is being implemented as part of the FLEXnCONFU project, an EU-funded initiative that demonstrates hydrogen's potential in energy storage and grid balancing through power-to-X-to-power (P2X2P) solutions. This event is an opportunity for gathering and collaboration with professors, researchers and students of DEM, providing insights into electrolysis technologies and industrial applications of hydrogen.
