Speaker: Patrícia Baptista (Scientific Area of Environment and Energy of DEM/IST, IN+ Centre for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research)

Title: "Challenges in designing and implementing low-carbon mobility in urban systems"

Abstract:

Recognizing the need to shift towards low-carbon urban systems, a comprehensive strategy, encompassing both monitoring and numerical analyses, is essential to conduct in-depth assessments on the energy, environmental and cost-effectiveness of decarbonizing strategies. This Seminar will be an opportunity to understand how these decarbonizing strategies should be designed, implemented and monitored in order to contribute to a low-carbon urban system, with particular emphasis on mobility applications.

Short Biographic Note:

Patrícia Baptista, MSc in Chemistry (IST) and PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems (IST), is an Assistant Professor in the Scientific Area of Environment and Energy of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEM) at IST. Her main areas of research focus on the transition to low-carbon systems, through the assessment of energy and environmental impacts of decarbonization strategies, with special focus on alternative mobility products and services.

This is another Seminar of the “Seminars@DEM” cycle.
Next Seminar, March 27, 2024, Wednesday, 3:00 pm.
