Title: "Circular bioeconomy at Sonae Arauco’s: from waste to value"

Abstract:

Sonae Arauco has developed and implemented in its industrial activity of producing wood-based panels a circular bioeconomy model that is based on the consumption of virgin wood fiber, by-products from the wood industry and post-consumer wood waste. The investment and innovation strategy to maximize wood recycling and its incorporation into products will be addressed. The genetic tests of pine species/provenance that are being developed will also be mentioned, as well as other initiatives.

Short Biographic Note:

Forest Engineer with more than 20 years of experience working in private forest owners’ organisations. Currently working at Sonae Arauco as Wood Regulation & Sustainability Manager. He is also board member of Centro PINUS - Association for the Valorization of the Pine Forest, and CoLAB ForestWISE - Collaborative Laboratory for Integrated Forest & Fire Management.
