Aerospace Week brought together over a thousand participants at Técnico

The Aerospace Week took place from 13th to 17th March and attracted over 1000 participants.

The Aerospace Week, held from 13th to 17th March, at Técnico – Alameda campus, brought together more than 30 companies and 24 lecturers. At the beginning of the academic year, the event organisers carried out a survey to the target audience to provide “a varied and representative experience of their interests” to all participants, explained Tiago Pratas, coordinator of the organisation team.

For the first time since 2002 – the debut year of Aerospace Week – an astronaut attended the event. John “Danny” Olivas gave a lecture on the second day about what it takes to be a NASA astronaut. According to Olivas, who had already visited Técnico in October 2022, “never give up” is a fundamental thing.

More than 1000 students participated in this year’s edition, of which nearly 500 used the app developed by the team. The Aerospace Week continues to be the only event in Portugal in the area linking students and business, says Tiago Pratas.

Space, Control, Propulsion and Formula 1 were the topics highlighted in this year’s edition, which included Workshops, Lectures, Roundtables and a Business Fair.
