Aerospace Engineering student wins GTSPT-Thales Merit Award
The award ceremony took place on April 20th and rewarded the best student of Digital Systems Curricular Unit.
The best Digital Systems Curricular Unit student won the GTSPT-Thales group last April 20th. The ceremony took place at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC). Duarte São Payo Ayres Pereira, Aerospace Engineering student at Técnico, was the winner having obtained a final grade of 19.36 in the subject. The student received a prize of 1350 euros.
“Técnico is proud to have students with so much talent. The GTSPT-Thales is not just a partner, it is a friend. The training in science, technology and engineering is expensive and thanks to projects and our partners, Técnico is able to provide an outstanding training offer”, pointed out the President of Instituto Superior Técnico, professor Rogério Colaço.
João Araújo, CEO of GTSPT-Thales, highlighted the relevance of this partnership: “We need each other and this knowledge is unique and quite necessary. This link between the University and Civil Society is important because the students are our hope for the future.”
The GTSPT-Thales group also donated €900 to DEEC to improve teaching and learning conditions. “We thank GTSPT-Thales for this award. The company’s support has been crucial on several occasions”, said professor Nuno Roma, professor at DEEC.
The merit award also included three honourable mentions to students Miguel Alexandre Antunes Cardoso, Miguel Nunes Alves Liñan da Silva and Sofia Gaspar Nunes.
