Mechanical Engineering student wins the Bondalti/FAM Merit Award in General Chemistry

The Bondalti/Amélia de Mello Foundation (FAM) Merit Award in General Chemistry was delivered this Wednesday, January 18, to the Mechanical Engineering student Francisco Miranda.

“Bondalti is more than our partner, it is our friend. Thank you for this Award”, said the President of Técnico, professor Rogério Colaço, who also congratulated the awarded student “this Award is well deserved”.

“There is a long-standing relationship between the two institutions”, stressed the Secretary General of FAM, Dr. Jorge Quintas. “You have the privilege of studying at one of the best international schools of Engineering”, he said to the awarded student.

The Bondalti representative, Dr. Alexandra Paiva, congratulated the awarded student: “I wish you much success in your personal and professional life”.

“I want to thank Bondalti and Amélia de Mello Foundation for recognising my effort and dedication”, said Francisco Miranda.

The Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, professor Teresa Duarte, took the opportunity to thank both institutions for all their support.

The Vice-President of Técnico for Operations and Corporate Relationships, professor Pedro Amaral, closed the session and thanked the support given by both institutions, and highlighted the important role of the Técnico Partner Network.

The Bondalti/FAM Merit Award in General Chemistry includes a monetary prize to the best student of General Chemistry and Chemistry introductory curricular units (BSc and MSc) and a monetary donation to DEQ for the improvement of learning conditions. With this award, Bondalti/FAM and Técnico aim to encourage and promote training in this scientific area, as well as the academic performance of Técnico students.
